Fortune cookie!... lets start it from here, lets start the whole idea on that day when i opened a fortune cookie one weak before anything happened!. As i read those words on a little piece of paper and it said, "Circumstances don't make a man, they only reveal himself to himself".
Puzzled a little but i then kept thinking about people who made difference in the world, shaped by hard challenging circumstances at one critical chapter of their lives that led them one way or the other to be who they are. True!, but to think of the motive that would push an ordinary individual to be a great man ia always something inside them provoced by what's around them. the equivalent force deep within them worked in the opposing direction. what was that force? their will, their true self, their true material, what they are made of!.
That might be a long introduction to my main point nevertheless not far apart of what is meant to say!.
EGYPT!, that's where i come from, and to tell you the truth i have always been proud of it but as i speak now, as am gonna say this with full awareness , meaning what i say with all my heart and soul what once Mustafa Kamel (a great political figure in the 1800's) said. "If I weren't an Egyptian, I would have wished to be an Egyptian".
Yes! i mean it.
Revolution, the call for freedom! sacrificing far and beyond for one man's land, for justice, for freedom of oppression, for others to live in peace and liberty!
I'm pretty sure you must have watched it in the news, chaos, opression! &...as devastating as the current conditions of the Egyptians are as honorable to see all these people, under great injustice and random gunshots by their own dictator regime, stand together against oppression, against fear, against looters and thugs who are up until now roaming the streets of the whole country stealing everything in the absence of the police, shooting random innocent people.
You would also be proud to see the people you belong to, (Protesters) form a domestic force in every area to protect their families and catch loose prisoners who have sprung free purposely by the government to scare people and rob them & put great pressure on them to have them give up their demands, give in their pleads of change!
You would also shed tears, to see young bodies getting killed just because they asked for wheir robbed rights, but you would also smile when you see their families stand tall, strong, not giving up saying they would have themselves along with their beloved souls taken away as a price of their rights.
You would be dying inside to see enormous numbers of injured demonstrators with not enough rooms in emergencies, but you would be amazed when people gather doctors and nurses who are protesting as well in the streets and make a domestic hospital on the positions they are in and actually save people's lives!
You would be sad to see their own police is against them, beating them, people who are supposed to protect them. but then again it would take you by surprise, all the will and togetherness clearly showing. you would be proud when you see people protecting the country's properties , you see how powerful, how civilized and strong (and list goes on and on) those brave people are.
looking at the bright side! taking whats yours. demanding your rights. never easy! coast is as high as the demand. and for the Egyptians under those difficult circumstances for only God knows until when!, are still hanging on. not giving up.
I'm pretty fortunate to be one, to be an Egyptian, All the Egyptians are; for they showed themselves before the whole world what they are made of!
